Discover Turoni's Pizzery & Brewery - Forget Me Not

Walking into Turoni's Pizzery & Brewery - Forget Me Not feels like stepping into a living scrapbook of Evansville’s food culture, where pizza ovens hum, beer glasses clink, and conversations stretch comfortably across tables. Located at 4 N Weinbach Ave, Evansville, IN 47711, United States, this spot has long been part of local routines, from weeknight dinners to post-game celebrations. I first came here on a rainy Thursday after work, expecting a quick bite, and ended up staying nearly two hours, mostly because the atmosphere invited it.

The menu balances familiarity with personality. Thin-crust pizza is the obvious draw, baked until the edges snap just right while the center stays tender. Toppings lean classic rather than trendy, which honestly works in its favor. Pepperoni cups crisp and curl, sausage carries a noticeable fennel note, and the house sauce has that slightly sweet, slow-simmered taste that suggests it hasn’t been rushed. A friend of mine, who spent years working in independent kitchens, pointed out how consistent the bake is from pie to pie, something that’s harder to pull off than people realize. That kind of consistency usually comes from well-calibrated ovens and staff who actually care about process.

Beer plays an equal role here, not as an afterthought but as part of the experience. The house-brewed options rotate, and staff are happy to explain the differences in plain language instead of industry jargon. One server walked us through a malty amber versus a lighter ale, explaining fermentation temperatures and flavor balance in a way that made sense without feeling like a lecture. According to data from the Brewers Association, brewpubs that pair food and beer thoughtfully tend to see higher customer return rates, and this place feels like a real-world example of that research in action.

What stands out in reviews is how approachable everything feels. Families, college students, and longtime regulars all seem to coexist without stepping on each other’s vibe. I overheard a nearby table reminiscing about coming here in the early 2000s, while another group debated which pizza travels best for takeout. That mix says a lot about trust built over time. The National Restaurant Association often notes that repeat business is driven by reliability more than novelty, and this location clearly leans into that strength.

Service follows the same philosophy. Orders come out without drama, refills appear before you ask, and questions about menu items get honest answers. On one visit, a server openly mentioned that a certain specialty pizza was better enjoyed fresh rather than boxed up, which felt refreshingly straightforward. That kind of transparency builds credibility in a way flashy marketing never could.

There are limitations worth acknowledging. The dining room can get loud during peak hours, and parking around Weinbach Avenue isn’t always effortless. Still, most regulars seem to accept those trade-offs as part of the experience rather than deal-breakers. When people talk about this place, they often use phrases like best thin crust, local favorite, and classic Evansville stop, not because they sound catchy, but because they’ve been earned over time.

Between the steady quality of the pizza, the thoughtful approach to brewing, and the grounded, welcoming service, this location continues to justify its reputation. It doesn’t chase trends or reinvent itself every season. Instead, it focuses on doing familiar things well, which, according to countless diners and my own repeated visits, is exactly why it keeps working.

  • Slice it anyway you want, but one word to describe Turonis would be this, PHENOMENAL! The service from Josh was top teir and the ambience from the establishment from 1996 created that warm comforting vibe that all us 90 babies remember! If you are in Evansville, stop by Turonis!

  • Place has a cozy atmosphere. Dim lights and old memorabilia decorate the walls. Food was good, the quality was good. Restrooms were clean Service was quick and efficient Nice place overall. Only reason I gave it four stars is because I wasn't a huge fan of the crust. It was to hard for my liking. Other than that, it was great

  • There were lots of options and the food was really good. My son and I got appetizers and personal size pizzas. Our server was great and got everything we needed quickly. It was dimly lit, very dimly lit, but it added to the ambiance.

  • We dined in for a couple of beers and pizza to go. The place was clean and the service was great. Very quick and polite. We went on a busy Halloween night and they still served us quickly. The pizzas were really good. Sausage and Mushrooms pizza was delicious

  • Pleasantly surprised! We ordered the House Special pizza and it was delicious. My husband had a couple of their craft beers. He enjoyed the Honey Gold and I had a Coke. Now I know most people don't review Coke but this was the best Coke I've had in a long, long time. It reminded me of the fountain sodas I had when I was a kid, full flavored, not like the watered down stuff you get in most places nowadays. Looking forward to going back!
